Irvine Park Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch in Orange County is fun for the entire family. Come out and enjoy the many activities for kids of all ages. The Pumpkin Patch is located just behind the train station and admission is FREE. Please note that a gate entrance fee will be charged by the County of Orange for each vehicle that enters Irvine Regional Park.

The Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off

Starting at 9:00 am
Join us on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 to see if pumpkin growers have what it takes to win a prize for growing the largest pumpkins. $8,500 in cash and prizes will be awarded.
On this day only, we will have a lot of giant pumpkins. All Pumpkin Patch activities will be open and can be enjoyed by all visitors.

Yes, entrance into the Pumpkin Patch is free. Prices for activities vary; activity tickets may be purchased in person at the train station. The County of Orange charges a park entrance fee. Parking is $3.00 per vehicle on weekdays, $5.00 per vehicle on weekends and $7.00 per vehicle on holidays.
The Pumpkin Patch does not sell out. However, please be advised that Irvine Regional Park is extremely busy during this time of the year and the park may close until parking again becomes available.
If the parking lot is full, the County of Orange will close the front gate and will not permit any additional cars to enter.

The best way to avoid Pumpkin Patch crowds is to visit on weekdays OR when we open on weekends at 8:00 AM. This will help prevent long park entrance lines and crowds at the event.
No. Dogs are not allowed inside of the Pumpkin Patch.
Dogs are, however, allowed in other areas of Irvine Regional Park and must be kept on a 6′ leash.
The cost of pumpkins varies. As you enter the Pumpkin Patch, there are stands with pumpkins and prices to view before and during your purchase.
No. Private parties are not allowed inside of the Pumpkin Patch.
For private parties, other locations inside of the park are available on a first come, first served basis.
Picnic benches around the train station are reserved for visitors who purchase food from the snack bar.
Yes. There is a full-service snack bar located at the train station. There are seasonal snacks available for sale inside of the Pumpkin Patch.
No. Professional and/or staged photography and/or videography is prohibited inside of the Pumpkin Patch.

$2.00 per person, ages 2 years and younger enter FREE
Visit the Orange County Zoo that over 100 animals native to Southern California call home. There is a petting zoo, too, an ideal activity for young children. The zoo is a 5-minute walk from the Pumpkin Patch.
